It has some excellent restaurants and some fantastic bars. Barcelona is of course situated on the Costa Brava, which means that it is a city right on the sea, and has some great beaches just a few minutes outside of the city. Situated on the Mediterranean sea, it also benefits from long summers and mild winters. This short guide will help you get the most out of your three days in the wonderful city of Barcelona.

What to see and do during your three days in Barcelona

A great place to start your visit to Barcelona is in the heart of the city in the famous pedestrianised area of Las Rambla. This is a tree lined, open air Mall that is seen as the central point in the city. The street starts near a famous statue of Christopher Colombus near the port, and goes all the way down to Placa de Cataluyna at its far end. Many high end shops are located here, as well as many cafes and restaurants. Of course, expect to pay more here as this is one of Barcelona's top tourist spots. The street is also famous for its many street artists. You can spend hours here!

Another must see in Barcelona is the famous cathedral La Sagrada Familia. The church was designed by the famous architect Gaudi and is in a gothic style. The cathedral is still not finished and won't be until 2026. It was started in 1882! It is now possible to go into this building and appreciate its magnificent architecture. Saudi's architecture can be appreciated all over the city, especially in the Gothic Quarter. This is well worth a browse with lots of interesting shops.

Barcelona, great also to enjoy sports

If you are interested in sport, another great place to visit is Barcelona's Olympic Stadium. This was originally built in the 1920's and then refurbished for the 1992 olympics.
